Angie – New Beginnings

January marks the start of new beginnings and resolutions. Participating in the clean eating challenge this January was no exception, but an opportunity to push our limits further, to see tangible results, and to explore new dietary habits. I set out with three specific goals in mind: embracing the Mediterranean diet, incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables into my meals, and ensuring I drank the recommended 80 ounces of water daily.

Now, as January draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on my journey. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve made significant strides in two out of three challenges. My commitment to consuming a diverse range of fruits and vegetables has not only been satisfying but has also left me feeling more energized and nourished. Likewise, meeting my hydration goal has had a noticeable impact on my overall well-being, leaving me feeling more alert and refreshed throughout the day.

However, it’s important to acknowledge the areas where I fell short. Despite my best efforts, the Mediterranean diet did not yield the results I had hoped for. In fact, I even found myself gaining a pound over the course of the month. Upon reflection, I realized that I may have granted myself too much leniency when it came to portion sizes, particularly with carbohydrates.

As February unfolds, I’m embracing a new challenge: striving to achieve 10,000 steps daily (an opportunity for reflection and mindfulness.) I’m eager to see how this commitment to daily movement will positively impact my overall well-being.

So, as we transition into a new month, stay tuned as I navigate the ups and downs, successes, and setbacks, of striving for a healthier, happier life. Together, let’s make February a month of progress and positivity.

Here’s to embracing new challenges and seizing each day with intention and determination!
