Starting My Step Journey Again

There was a time when hitting my step goal felt automatic. My shoes were by the door. Walks were built into my routine. Watching my step count climb gave me a small but satisfying sense of accomplishment.

And then it stopped

One lesson I’ve learned: starting too big makes it easy to quit.

Starting again required humility. It meant accepting that I fell out of rhythm. It meant not judging myself for it.

But restarting it is powerful.

Because every time I begin again, I prove something:
I am not stuck.
I am not defined by pauses.
I can recommit.

That mindset shift matters more than the step count.

 My restart looks like:

  • A realistic daily step goal
  • Short walks after meals
  • Taking phone calls while walking
  • Choosing stairs when I can

Small steps build big habits. Telling myself it’s ok to have started late as long as you started.
