Gabe – Starting My Journey…

Starting on this journey, I was not exactly sure what to expect. At first, I thought I might be depriving myself of the very few comforts and self-rewards that I get in this ever so hectic life. I was quite nervous and to be honest, very hesitant about everything that was involved.

It is a little over 2 weeks into the journey and let me tell you- totally not the case! I already have renewed energy and an overall improved sense of well-being. Previously, I’d get to work munching on some unhealthy snack while thinking of what calorie- packed comfort meal I would use to help eat my stress away for lunch. Now, I arrive with my grape tomatoes and avocado breakfast, soar through the day packed with energy, and look forward to what wonderful and nutritious meal We’ll be having for dinner… and yes, I did say “We’ll” because my wife and kids are involved as well! Not only is Viva Fresh’s CEC helping me, but it is also benefiting my family as well!

Just as background, I did not participate in this challenge with the sole purpose of losing weight.  I wanted to get back to the basics of practicing what I preach regarding really consuming more fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Improving my inner health was my top priority. I have actually already lost 9 lbs.! Note- I purposefully have not done any exercising or physical activity, other than the normal walking from point A to point B. I wanted to see what just a change in eating habits would do and wanted to have a baseline for that. Let me just say, I am very impressed so far and feeling better than I have in years! Really looking forward to the next five+ months! Come on November!
